Kansainvälinen hanke
Pienimuotoisen kumppanuusprojektin päätavoitteena on ohjata opiskelijoiden huomio kykyjensä hyödyntämiseen. Yksi hyödyllisimmistä tavoista on saada omakohtaista kokemusta muiden maiden ammatillisen koulutuksen alan käytännöistä. Opiskelijat voivat saada uusia ideoita, olla innovatiivisempia ja he voivat harjoitella vieraita kieliä. Näin heillä on parempi asema työelämässä ja laajemmat sosiaaliset verkostot, mikä voi olla hyödyllistä tulevassa työssä. Lisäksi he oppivat uusista kulttuureista. Yksi askel tavoitteiden saavuttamiseksi vastavuoroisilla vaihtojaksoilla on hankkia teoreettista ja käytännön kokemusta sellaisista koneista, laitteista tai työtavoista, joita ei opeteta omassa koulussa. Lisäksi opiskelija oppii erilaisista metsäkulttuurityypeistä, metsätalouden menetelmistä ja siitä miten tätä tietoa voidaan hyödyntää tehokkaasti myös päivittäisissä opinnoissa.
Hankkeessa on tavoitteena integroida uutta tietoa paikalliseen opetussuunnitelmaan, jotta metsätalouden ammatillisesta koulutuksesta saataisiin entistä innovatiivisempaa. Koulussa opitut menetelmät eivät aina ole samansuuntaisia työmarkkinoiden tarpeiden kanssa. Kumppaniorganisaatio voi auttaa täyttämään aukon ja osoittamaan menetelmiä, jotka ovat lähempänä työmarkkinoiden todellisia tarpeita. Koska projektin ja vaihtojaksojen työkieli on englanti, opiskelijat voivat myös parantaa vieraiden kielten osaamistaan.
Kansainvälinen hanke
The main goal in this small-scale partnership project is to direct the students’ attention to exploit their abilities. One of the most useful ways of doing so is to get firsthand experience from other countries’ practices in their field of vocational education. Students can get new ideas, they will be more innovative, they can practice foreign languages and experience the importance of it, they will have better positions in work life and they can expand their social networks, which can be useful in their future carrier. Furthermore, they can learn about new cultures that are different from they got used to. One step to achieve these goals is to allow them to gain theoretical and real-life experience on such equipment which are not or just partly available in the school like simulators and harvester-forwarder machinery. Students can learn more about different types of forest culture, forestry methods and that knowledge can be used effectively in their daily studies as well.
The project also tries to integrate the gained knowledge in local curriculum in order to make the forestry vocational education more innovative. The methods learnt at school are not always in parallel with the needs of the labour market. Meanwhile the partner organisation could help to fill the gap and show methods that are much closer to the real needs of the labour market. This could be the beginning of a long-term partnership programme as well. As the work language of the programme is English students in the programme could improve their foreign language knowledge as well.
